Orofacial myofunctional therapy is an individualized program of neuromuscular re-education and strength exercises that aim to correct maladaptive oral habits and restore correct resting tongue & mouth posture, proper breathing & swallowing. Basically, we retrain the oral and facial muscles to help individuals breathe, chew, speak & swallow properly.

Dental crowding, mouth breathing, orthodontic relapse, tongue-thrust swallowing pattern, TMJ issues, head and neck tension, snoring & sleep apnea.

Myofunctional Therapy may improve facial aesthetics by encouraging proper craniofacial development.

Generally, myofunctional therapy is a compliment to orthodontics and will promote longterm success. We recommend a consult with a myofunctional therapist prior to starting orthodontics as early as age 4 if arch width is a concern. We do not recommend on waiting on all adult teeth to erupt before having a consult.

We offer customized therapy plans for children (ages 4 and up) and adults to treat Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMDs).

Great question! An OMD is anything that affects proper chewing, swallowing, speaking, and nasal breathing. This can be a learned habit like thumb sucking or a physical barrier such as a tongue-tie.

It shouldn’t be! Like any new exercise program, the muscles may fatigue and become temporarily sore.

Nope! Therapy is affordable and sessions are completed at home, saving travel costs as well. Our therapy packages range from $750-$1800 depending on client needs & duration of therapy. We offer payment plans, pay-in-full discounts and accept HSA & FSA payments.
